If an additional clause is included in a joint account stating that upon the death of any of the beneficiaries, the deposit and account thereafter pass on to the remaining survivors, then such deposit shall fall on the remaining beneficiaries free of any inheritance tax or other levy.
However, attention should be paid to the fact that the withdrawal of funds from the joint account holder while the real depositor is alive it is considered as an informal donation, with the Tax Authority bearing the burden of proof.
