As of June 1st, SYN-ERGASIA program will come into effect, covering part of the salary of employees placed in temporary, part-time employment.
Simultaneously, suspension of employment contracts will continue in June and July, for businesses that remain closed and businesses in the hospitality, tourism, transport, culture and sports sectors that are affected.
Businesses that want to join the SYN-ERGASIA program must:
- Prove a reduction of turnover by at least 20% during the crisis, regardless of whether or not they were included in the affected business codes, and
- Maintain employee positions until the end of October 2020.
The period of part-time employment for employees will be temporary. It is forbidden to change the employment contract in effect before entering the part-time employment status and the employee must return to full-time employment with the same salary and the same rights as before.
